Hi

Just tried to log in online to switch heating on - and no access to my thermostat.

I'm disabled so its great for me to access the thermostat from upstairs - just telephoned them and their servers are down - so no web access for now.

Had the nest installed yesterday absolutely love it so far. Its just the freedom of being able to turn on the heat when you're on your way home and having the thermostat learning your routine and base heat temps.

I love the nest itself very apple like (not surprisingly seeing as the inventor designed the ipod) I just want to get a couple of the Nest protects now. I actually didn't know they had a lifecycle of 7 years but I also didn't know normal smoke detectors did either. Very polished product

Google have now added support to control Nest with voice commands via their Android and iOS app. Don't think I would use it but some might, I'd much prefer Nest to produce a Widget for iOS.

So 2 Nest Thermos been running for a while now. And have four protects joined to the system too.

There is also another part of the Google integration that uses google maps to work out when the heating needs to be on depending on your location.

I'm definitely seeing a reduction  in gas usage as I am now actively controlling both my zones. And the usage metre in the app shows when things are being used more or less.  But like the post above, mine was fitted back in March so I'll need to looked at bills over the winter to get a comparison.

The thermos do occasionally go offline and not sure why that is.  But it's not chasing any major issues for me yet.  And the ability to turn the heating off automatically when we are away from the house is great.  And as it now know's efficient my boiler and heating system is (after only a weeks worth of use) it shows me on the thermo how long it will take to get the temp up to the desired level.

It's all very clever and well worth ever my penny in my opinion

Hello

Just wondering now we're well into the cold snap, how the potential savings are being realised by you guys?

We are doing some flood repair works at home, so I'm thinking of getting wet underfloor heating fitted on the ground floor of our townhouse. It is all ceramic and will be afterwards.

I really like the look of these controllers but need to justify costs to the decision maker at home.

Any advice welcome.

My 3 nest are on the wall. Should all be up running soon I hope. I have run wires to have   them hardwired back to the heatlink but after reading the documentation it seems like all I have done is created a power supply for the stat and they will still use their wireless function.

I am a bit concerned how they will work as I gather they don't work from your home wifi but link to their own proprietary network? If that is so do the stats need to be in range of each other or do they all need to be in range of the heatlink's? I hope they don't as there is a big distance between the last stat and the 3 heatlink's that are all down in the basement. So hopefully thy can just link together between the stats themselves...

Hoping some of you guys may be able to she's some light on this?

Cheers
