House is roughly 180m2 if I remember correctly.  Yes, we were considering an ASHP but because the GSHP tariff was double and we had the space in the rear garden for the ground loops, it made sense for us to go with GSHP.

Because the house is so well insulated, we only have the heating on low in a couple of the bedrooms and in our large kitchen/diner, and use a log burner in the living room.  

Only downside is my cinema room, which is upstairs is unusable during the summer months because of how hot it gets.  Air Con is on my list of upgrades!

Sounds like you’ve got a great setup.

We have some ‘leaky’ areas that aren’t as draftproof as they could be, but we are working on sealing them as we go along. Hopefully by next winter we will be a lot better.

I received an email from them on Friday that our first payment will be received in 10 days. That should answer our question of whether our estimated payments will match what we receive.
