State pension age rise brought forward - BBC News

I'm right in the middle of the age bracket so no state pension for me for another year (24 years now).

On the one hand I feel, doh, another year without the state pension, but on the other, I fully understand the need to do so and, personally, I would have gone further (and faster).

Thoughts?

Although it wont affect me, I agree it does need to be done faster. We simply cannot afford the present system where we are all living much longer.

Or we could just start a war..

It's inevitable.  Just a pity we can't scale back NHS spending as well.

Something needed to be done and it couldn't be seen to be impacting Tory core voters, so everyone 50  will be unaffected which is the most important thing.
Twas nice waking up this morning to find out that I won't have to wait an extra 2 years over and above what previous generations have, I'll have to wait 3 years instead, because they deserve it and we don't

As a smoker with a penchant for chip butties, it's probably going to mean I will only get a pension for a couple of years if I am lucky so that'll save em a bob or two as well.

Is anyone really planning on relying on the state pension in the years ahead? That seems a very bold assumption to me.
