The carrier was ordered by Labour. The Conservatives carried on as the contracts signed meant it would also be expensive to cancel.
Also we are a member of Nato and just about making our Nato commitment of 2% of GDP. If we weren't spending it on the carrier we'd be buying tanks or aircraft or guns. All so we meet the commitment.
Buckingham Palace is part of our heritage. We'd be paying for it if we ditched the Queen and opened it to the public.
NHS and social services are just bottomless pits.
