But in which case lets have no PS then there is no cost at all. I know thats a stupid point to make but they have been denied for awhile now. Tax revenue and NI/VAT revenue must go up year on year. Has the goverment used this money to make the country better or pissed it away on leaflets/lunches/advisors/HS2 etc. Wasting money the same as they accuse the NHS etc of.
To "punish" PS at every turn must do nothing for morale in a sector where some you can actually use the words heros.

Let's be honest, there are some who post in this sub-forum for whom any taxation is too much. Until their precious daughter is raped, or gets cancer...at which point who do they turn to exactly?

It'd be interesting to see just how much they'd be preaching about personal responsibility had it been their relatives who had burned up a week or so ago...

There are plenty in the private sector who would be glad of a guaranteed 1% per year pay rise and the sort of pension the PS get.
