His closeness to terrorists, the IRA in particular was a wholly legitimate issue to highlight. What we have learned from the election though is that such criticism of him doesn't cut through, because a lot of the cult Corbyn members (and what a cult the man is) are too young to remember the IRA, it doesn't resonate with them so it becomes irrelevant.

I've no direct evidence. Just the picture and plenty of evidence that he supported the IRA and lied about never having met them.

Let alone that it's almost certain that Gerry Adams was on the IRA council, and Corbyn definitely met him.

What hasn't been learned though is that if obvious BS is also used, it lessens any valid criticism and adds to his underdog popularity increasing. If you embellish a truth with lies, it's no surprise when people think it's all a lie

There's no accounting for some people's basic stupidity.Personally, I wouldn't vote for someone with such close links to terrorist organisations. But that's just me.

And Iraq has been much more stable since Saddam and Co departed . Some of these countries I feel need a brutal dictatorship as the alternative can be worse in the long run.

But this seems to be an organised bloodless coup, not a botched foreign invasion with shambolic regime change - could be good for the country, like Musharraf was for Pakistan and the region for the time he was in charge.

Possibly, but I don't see it. He was nowhere, with no hope before it all started. He only ever increased in popularity after that.

Only goes to show how bad all of our party leaders are, and pretty much all their senior party members.
