Some of us realised it years ago when it came out. Open source intelligence is much older than that though, but Facebook, Twitter etc have made it a lot easier. WhatsApp used to be brilliant for it as well.

I never install an app if, in the developer credits, I see they use gmail/hotmail/etc for their contact email and/or they're from Russia/China

This was so good to watch I had to keep flicking back to Villa vs Cardiff, rather than watching the whole match as intended (I missed Grealish's wonder goal - had to rewind).

Really liked the 'apology tour' board and just the squirming of a frankly unconvincing CEO who wants to look like they care about privacy when really they want to be able to sell/rent/use/monetise our data.

He genuinely looked like someone whose monster has got beyond his control.

Interesting collection of videos here from the two days, basically highlighting how Zuckerbg is wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of his depth and finding it rather uncomfortable exposing how their ad tracking has worked.
