All-male job shortlists banned by PwC

The banning all male shortlists is ludicrous.

So if you have a position that only receives male applicants or where there are female applicants but are far below the standard of the males what are they supposed to do.

Abandon the recruitment.
Find a token female to include.
Shortlist the female applicants even though they fell below the required standard.

Crazy, it should be the best applicants regardless of sex, age, race, religion etc.

It'd be interesting to see the demographics at work here...I'm guessing the vast majority of those against any kind of measures to redress the balance are White Anglo-Saxon Males? I can't imagine why.

I work for an IT consultancy and have never seen any sign of discrimination.  I have never seen anything in workplace discussions or interviews to suggest anything other than everyone being treated equally.  And yet we have only 25% females, getting worse in more senior roles.

Why is that? Nothing I have seen would suggest it is down to  discrimination.

That didn't answer my question.

I've been working in various roles in the Private and Public sector for almost 20 years and I've not once personally witnessed any racial discrimination. Are you suggesting that racial discrimination doesn't exist?

Good to hear.
Working in high tech (semiconductor etc.) I haven't seen any. There are *****s but they are like that with everyone.

@rustybin - I have noticed discrimination varies a lot between sectors.

I expect if everyone walked around with big cards with their salaries written on the discrimination would be quite apparent lol

In your area I would not expect much discrimination but other areas for example defence companies are notorious.
