I not head of the case until  I heard about it last night on This Week. And then read a bit up on the case, and she been working in a field picking berries and asked to fetch some water from a near well and while there found a cup and had a drink of water from it and was told it was forbidden for a christian to drink from the same utensil as a muslim, although there other stuff but seems like a lot witch hunt.
Just seems worse that the middle ages in this country who were like Lilliputians.

We got far worse in this country that should be deported, we should give her asylum.

Does that actually matter? There is a serious threat to live situation. Name one good reason why we shouldn’t allow an asylum application?

She did not actually say anything bad, she merely offered a drink of water to a fellow worker.  That person took offence to a Christian offering a muslim a drink and exaggerated the situation out of hand.    For that she spent 8 years in Jail.   Of course the telltale would probably not have been offended if she had been offered money.

My understanding of the detail is that the actual arrest and senticing was based on blasphemy, yes seriously

Apparently there was a row between her and some Muslim women which ended up with them slagging off each other’s religions. Most of these types of cases in India and Pakistan seem to be a way of settling personal feuds and grudges.

Oh  New information.... Whereas most of us (reasonable types) have said that it shouldn't be a problem for her to move here, I hear there is something more sinister.
The reason Britain has been dragging its feet on this application is because it fears unrest amongst the British Muslims here...…   I know.... go figure...

Yes, I missed that aspect or didn't consider that the British government would actually be reluctant to offer her asylum because of this reason.. Disgraceful.
