Positive - A personal one for us, whilst not the driving factor, it did help us accelerate and crystallise our plans to leave the UK. Ever since the democratic vote has happened there has been this drive to overturn it by those who didn't get their way. I find it really sad, and it is no basis to utilise that unique opportunity to rebuild the future. But hey ho, we like to grab opportunities when they present themselves and it helped us make the decision and move back to city living on the canals of Amsterdam.
Negative - It has really highlighted to me how large sways of the population have a deep rooted dependency on government and the EU to sort their lives. It really seems many are incapable of determining their own destination and I find that sad. But ultimate the main negative that already has happened, is that the UK political system is in absolute tatters. Sure I agree it is positive that it is now so clear to many that it was build on sand. But the outcome of it is a very negative effect of the Brexit referendum before we even left. At a time of coming together to build the future none of the sorts has happened. |
