The Tubemeister get pretty good reviews. I was looking at the 18 against an Orange Jim Root Terror. The 18 has a lot to like, not least that it glows blue and had a power soak down to 1w, plus all its other features. I have not tried out both next to each other but on you tube the Tubemeister does not get close to the Orange  on Tone (in my opinion) , which is where it's at I guess.

The fact that it looks so cool with the blue glow is surely reason enough to buy one isn't it?

I bought a TAG McLaren home cinema system on that premise At a hi-fi show, lights off & room went black then dozens of blue lights on amps were switched on. Cost me thousands!!

It was dearest thing I've ever bought, more than my cars which are always at least 3 years old. Still lovely after about twelve years, had upgrades in early years before they pulled out of AV market and concentrated on F1! Who needs HDMI!
