And no one's arguing with that. Just showing a way it can be done without having to feed into an amp with an output, like you also said.

Then why don't you explain what you mean, just posting a link to an adaptor doesn't mean it will work and say of any drawbacks or benefits, if you know of any, to the OP, as my posts are directed towards him (And others who might be in the same situation or thinking about RS as an option) and not someone who already knows something about guitars, as new players don't know anything about guitars or RS and just a link doesn't really explain anything to them.

I doubt very much that anyone capable of clicking on the link can't comprehend what the coupler does. But you carry on...

he does admit to being not very good at it but the idea is there

You are a funny person, you are obviously incapable of contributing to happychappy69's request for help in a positive manner without using it as a vehicle to try and be a smart ass about something you obviously know nothing about, by your own admission, yet continue to act like a child when someone doesn't agree with you or your views, so please carry on now spoiling members experience, well done and have a hug.

That's a really good price, considering the game with the cable would cost around £60 on it's own. So effectively you're getting a guitar for around £40!

Could be tempted by the electro acoustic,  if there's one for lefties out there - any idea if these guitars are any good/full sized?

At that price I might just take this one and learn to play right handed

EDIT: looks like electric only for lefties

As was pointed out earlier by others, if you do go the electro acoustic route, then expect a tougher time than strictly necessary.  Bending the strings on an acoustic is tough.  Playing barre chords is also going to be hard work for a beginner.  Electric guitar and semi acoustic are both physically easier to play.  Just don't want you to put yourself off in the early stages by having a harder time than you should.
