Hi,
I have got interested in the phase of the woofer and tweeter, since I switched to active speakers and vocals went way way back in the sound stage. It was suggested I switched the & - on the tweeters, 180deg phase shift, to see if that made any difference. To my surprise, vocals were now emanating from between the speakers, a much better place to have them
So I understand the XTA box can phase shift in steps of 2deg, this interests me because at the moment I only have a 0 and 180deg options (swapping speaker cables over) I am wondering if by playing with the phase shift in much smaller steps, I may be able to bring the vocals just slightly in front of the speakers - now that would be Fab!
It looks like, in having a quick play with the audiocore software, the phase filter can be activated at a particular frequency, or a number of different frequencies... Am I understanding this right?
I was thinking punch in a figure of 170deg and as if by magic 170deg would then be the phase shift, rather than 180, but no it looks more complicated than that, hence this post... help... ;o)
Thanks for reading, any pointers or thoughts appreciated,
