As the title suggest I'm wondering about mixing active and passive PA speakers. Basically, I have a Harbinger V2212 that I'm running an unpower mixer in to. I'm looking to add another one of those, and two passive speakers that would act as a monitors. This is only used to drive vocals as our amps are plenty loud enough. Only going to be using it for small local shows as the two V2212s would be more than enough for practicing.
Would this be feasible and would it even work? If it would be, what would be the best wattage for the passive speakers? The V2212s are rated at 180w RMS and 600w Peak. Last thing I want is to get cheap speakers to find out they'll blow because they can't handle the load properly.
