Hi, I am in the process of converting 2 x Bose 802 Mk2 speakers to speakon connections instead of XLR. The jack connections apparently go weak with age and so this seems a logical conversion. The example I have been following on internet is " Convert bose 802 to Speakons". In the instrs it says use a 3/4" chassis punch to enlarge the XLR holes to accept the speakons. However when I look at the spec for a Neutrik NL4MP connector in particular the machine drawings it shows the diameter of the speakon socket that would fit into the hole as 24mm which is considerably more than 3/4". I actually have a 13/16" inch punch already which I was hoping to use. So my question is " Does anybody know the size of chassis hole I would need to acommodate the Speakon connector?" Maybe there are other manufacturers that make a copy of the NL4MP with slightly different dimensions? |
