Here's my wall of kit.
There is:
Roland DX10
Yamaha MM6
M-Keystation Pro 88 (Midi Controller)
Edirol UA-FX4 Sound shaper thingy
Very old Yamaha RY8 Rhythm Programmer (aka Drum Machine)
Behringer 8 channel mixing desk feeding my old Kenwood AV receiver driving Mission speakers
Aria Pro II Active Bass
El Cheapo Les Paul copy
El Cheapo Fender Strat copy (albeit with Double Eagle neck and upgraded pickups)
Flambeau accoustic guitar (this is the cheaper make of a good manufacturer but for the life of me I can't remember who now)
A digiridoo
A tin whistle
PC running Vista Business with an EMU soundcard, Proteus addon, Sonar DAW.
Oh, and a racially insensitive dark skinned knitted doll circa 1965.
Still not convinced that I have it all connected up correctly in terms of midi and analog feeds.
Used to play many years ago (late 80's) in a band around Ayrshire - we were called Fear of the Dark - playing mostly dance type music (think Duran Duran crosssed with Echo and the Bunnymen). Haven't really played much since then so find this whole music thing very frustrating as I used to be quite good, but serious lack of practice now means that it is a bit of a struggle for me to get into the groove. I am getting more into Celtic 'folk' music (Phil Cunningham, Eddi Reader, John McCusker, Emily Smith, Red Hot Chillie Pipers et al) so I have been listening to this type of music and trying to play it by ear. Probably get on better playing with my fingers though (okay, old joke, sorry).
As I am currently not working and being a house husband, I will have more time on my hands so hopefully this fact and this new section (cheers Keiron) will spur me on to get off my derriere and get practicing again.
Cheers,
Iain |
