Just picked it up in Asda for a tenner, probably the same in Smiths during there half price top xx hardbacks.
I of course checked through all their stock to find one without a blemished dust jacket, and the checkout lady looked at me funny when I gave it to her, rather than have it on the belt, then took it from her hand before she could slide it down the checkout area. I think I would have scanned it myself if I could (didn't bother with self checkout as I had some Brahma)
My copy arrived on Saturday from Amazon (£10). It's now at the bottom of a pile of 'Wheel of Time' books that I'm re-reading so it'll be a while before I get chance to read it. I enjoy Vimes' exploits so I hope this one up to scratch.
I'm with you on protecting books . I do worry when I lend them out sometimes...
