Looks like the 19th will be my most expensive weekend for the #2's

A big for Action Comics no.2.  Still $3.99, but they've reduced the story pages by 9 pages (!) from issue 1 to fit in a 'sketch book' & a preview of some new Batman graphic novel (the latter of which seems to appear in most of the new no.2's, but they've reduced the number of adverts to compensate in those)

Poor show DC.   If you want to do that, lower the price down to $2.99!

I didn't notice action and jl were still 3.99 till yesterday, what happened to draw the line at 2.99?

I didn't mind the extras but would have preferred more story but i enjoyed action 2 a lot.

Today I picked up...

Detective comics #2
Red Lanterns # 2
Green Arrow #2

This is all fine but Forbidden planet haven't ever shipped my #1's of them yet so they are all sitting here taunting me because I can't read them

I read action, detective, red lantern and swamp thing this week.  I really enjoyed all four. Only issue i had was the text between superman and lex was hard to pick out who was saying what. Detective is my fav from this week.

If by resetting everything back to issue one is meant to pull in new readers they're not making it easy. I'm not a comics reader so went to the dc website but it's so confusing. You've got superman then action comics, dark knight and batman but it's not clear where to start or why there's two comics for the characters.

Good point - you would think there would be a kind of 101 back story thing, to describe the legacy behind it, who the main characters are etc on each of the arc's.

Do you know if Marvel did the same for there revamps? I only get Daredevil, and I understand his revamp, while not a fresh year one start, his revamp was more a break from the last series were everyone knew his real identity and this starts with him denying it was him at all kind of thing.

I don't think Marvel have really done a major revamp recently, the last was after Heroes Reborn since then most titles have been on their own depending on storylines.

The .1 issues that recently came out were suppossed to be a jumping on point and they were stand alone issues but often during mid issues storylines so i don't know how that helped new readers.

Hulk is due a another no 1 but it only got to 40ish last time so not exactly a major run, again i don't think they reset things just give new writer/artist a fresh start.

I did read Marvel are keeping an eye on DC sales to see if they need to do similar reset across the board but i think with the Ultimate Line they are in a different situation from DC.

I think a new DC reader is maybe supposed to pick up Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman etc and then go from depending on what they like as i am sure the relevant lines will be advertised within.

First number 2 i've dropped is Green Arrow, i thought 1 was dire so until a write change happens i'm at least one title down.

Detective is still very good, and I am loving the character of the dollmaker.
