In my opinion Lee Child has been coasting with the last few books.
As others have said, they are all very formulaic, not that I object to that.
In one he had pushed Reachers abilty in maths and mental time clock to ridiculous levels but he did reign back in the next book.
Also - in one of the later books Reacher had no way of escaping being blown to death at the end. In the next book he is alive and slightly bruised but no explanation how he escaped - Lazy writing and a bit insulting to readers IMHO
Despite my criticisms I still enjoy them as bedtime easy reading.
I have to say say another favourite author of mine - Michael Connelly - Also seems to be taking the easy route and coasting. The intelligent plotting of the earlier books is now gone.
