Folks,

Got some free gift tokens to use and I need a list of your top ten books in no particular order. I read at least 1 book a week on average for the last 30 odd years, so I know most of the classic's but there are books that you read loads of times.
My most read book has got to be Tom Sharpes Wilt, the most funny book ever IMO, still reading a falling apart version from the 70's, when I need cheering up.

Here's as series of books that are even better than the TV series

hthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Sharpe_(fictional_character)

Probably the longest book I read and enjoyed it all the way

Dark Rivers of the Heart: Amazon.co.uk: Dean Koontz: Books

Best Alister McLean book if you half like the film that's because its only half the story after the film ended there is the other half in the book.

Ice Station Zebra: Amazon.co.uk: Alistair MacLean: Books

Here's a couple of "off the top of my head" lists

SF
Cat's Cradle        Kurt Vonnegut
Dimension of Miracles        Robert Sheckley
The Stainless Steel Rat        Harry Harrison
Roadside Picnic        Arkady and Boris Strugatsky
The Futurological Congress        Stanislaw Lem
Ubik        Philip K Dick
The Paradox Men        Charles L. Harness
Echo Round His Bones        Thomas M Disch
The Chrysalids        John Wyndham
The Forever War        Joe Haldeman
Non-SF
The Tin Drum        Gunter Grass
Birdsong        Sebastian Foulkes
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy        John Le Carré
All Quiet on the Western Front        Erich Maria Remarque
Travels With My Aunt        Graham Greene
All Quiet On The Orient Express        Magnus Mills
The Wasp Factory        Iain Banks
The Master And Margarita        Mikhail Bulgakov
The Beastly Beatitudes Of Balthazar B        JP Donleavy
War and Peace        Leo Tolstoy
No repeated authors (otherwise it would probably be filled with Vonnegut and Le Carré).
