I haven't really read a comic book in the last 10 years, well that's not entirely true, I've probably re-read, watchmen, dark knight returns, killing joke, some preacher, Constantine, sandman bits and Bob's, etc. I haven't actually read anything new in that time apart from some walking dead and Y the last man.

I've recently discovered Transmetropolitan, and that's kinda led me to Freak Angels and Saga. What else have I missed along the lines of what I've mentioned here or that you think I might like?

Depends on where you want to go with the collection.

I can recommend quite a few Superhero related titles that I've really enjoyed.

Aside from that I've recently been enjoying Revival & I've been recommended Chew.

Alot of people rave about Boys but it's not for me

100 Bullets was a good series that I enjoyed.  It's a noir style series though I'm not sure if that's your thing.

Fables is a current series that I like.  It's a story of how fairy tale characters are displaced from their world and come into our world.

Not sure if you came across it after reading Sandman, but Mike Carey's Lucifer was really good.  I don't think it's as good as Sandman, but Neil Gaiman's work is my favourite work of fiction and 95% of stuff I come across doesn't come close to it.

On the Batman front, Scott Snyder's current run on Batmanwith Greg Capullo has been great, and some of the best superhero stuff I've read.  The artwork is really good - I think it suits the feel of the stories perfectly.  'The Court of Owls' and 'The City of Owls' (of the 'Night of the Owls' arc) are both out now as collected editions.

For more on Gotham from the police side, Gotham Central by Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka was a decent series.  A short run as I don't think it ever sold well, but I think it's worth having a look.

Brian Azzarello's current work on Wonder Woman is pretty good.  It plays up the Greek mythology side more than the superhero/Justice League side of her character.  (Not sure if this has always been the case with the series - I'm a first timer on it.)

Not sure if you're into Marvel stuff, but there has been some good stuff from them.  I like Mark Waid's current run on Daredevil and it got me into a character that I had never previously been interested in.

Hawkeye- no, really - by Matt Fraction has been getting good reviews, though I have to confess it's one I've yet to read.  It's on my wanted list for the moment.

Rick Remender's run on Uncanny X-Force was a decent run.  Worth it for the wise cracking from Deadpool.

Very comprehensive!

I also recommend Chew, also Walking Dead and as long as you are ok with extreme violence and adult content then The Boys is terrific.

Superhero wise, the Ultimates and Civil War.

I'll happily second the votes for Ultimates, The Walking Dead and, especially, Chew. Bought the first collected edition on a whim and carried on with two and three, bit behind now, but looking forward to catching up.

It really is good fun, and the art's great one of my favourite series, definitely.

Been routing through my current stuff & can recommend these superhero related goodies...

Green Lantern Blackest Night / Brightest Day
Huge DC universe cross over that was just brilliant

Green Lantern Sinestro Corps wars
Read this before Blackest Night it's probably one of my best GL titles

Marvel Annihilation series (Annihilation, Annihilation Conquest, GotG, War of Kings, Realm of Kings Thanos Imperative, Annihiltors, Annihilators Earthfall)
Big massive Cosmic brilliance, probably the best Marvel I've read in years & well worth getting as it helps introduce the current Guardians of the Galaxy line up way before the Marvel Now stuff

Planet Hulk / World War Hulk
This really got me back into the Hulk & should be high up on anyone's list

Batman - Earth One
Another origin story but this is Geoff Johns take on it & it's pretty bloody awesome

Superman - Earth One
As above but this is J Michael Straczynski doing it & as we all know he's a god as well

Green Lantern - Rebirth
Great read...more Geoff Johns brilliance & re-introduces Hal Jordan...this paved the way for everything that followed & is a genuine must

Batman - The Man who Laughs
Basically a Joker origin story & a great one too

Transformers - Last Stand of the wreckers.
It was obvious I should have something for them in here
This is probably one of the best Transformers stories ever, obviously it helps if you have some grounding in the universe but this is just awesome.

DC - Justice
Great Justice League story, with a lot of focus on the villains

X-Men - House of M
Probably one of the best X-men stories I've ever read.

Avengers - Dissasembled
read it as a prequel to House of M as it has a lot of background involved

Secret Invasion -
Probably one of the biggest series I've ever seen, think in total it encompasses something like 30 different books & you will need to read some of them prior to reading the main event but it's well worth it, anything involving Skrull is worth investigating IMO

Think that's enough for now, but there is loads loads more to look at.
