What about other Historic Fiction outside of England ?

I swear there was a world war II series, similar in style to the Sharpe books that we had the first 2 off, but cant remmeber them

Derek Robinson writes good WWI and WWII war novels based on the Flying Corps and RAF. He did a whole series of books including the famous "Piece of Cake" about the battle of Britain.
