Think the first one was The Templar Legacy ? That wasn't my favourite and they do get better. I tend to read a book in a day or so, so don't always pick up on slow pacing

Yes that was the one. I read the first 3 chapters and thought was ok and I ordered up to 10 but found after the first 3 chapters it got bogged down and be time I finished the book was glad I finished it, to get on to something more interesting.
I found the Ben Hope series slower at the start than later on although faster at the start than The Templar Legacy.
