Ok so planning another trip to Las Vegas next year & now faced with the usual dilemma of which hotel to pick.

Have previously stayed at:
Hilton Elara 2012
Aria 2015

Both these hotels were superb and we are considering staying at one of them again next year.

The Elara is the cheapest but we can get a great suite there for good money, its central on the strip, nice pool (which we do use every day). It is a none casino hotel though with no restaurants and just one limited bar. Some would say its compactness and no casino are a good thing and to a degree this is true. Drinks are great value at the pool too. So all in all a great hotel.

The Aria moved things on for us with facilities which are incredible. We got a corner suite overlooking the strip (which you do pay a premium for) but wow its high class. Decor ultra modern. The POOLS are incredible although drinks are expensive.

The casino is one of the nicest I have been in. Amazing bars, restaurants and Jean Phillipe deli for great breakfast, pastries and cakes. A brilliant well equipped gym. Just an amazing hotel with stunning decor & facilities. Almost feel like we could try every hotel on the strip and still think this is our fave .. it was that good !

So stick with Elara and save some cash or go with Aria and get the great experience again.

or ....

Try another hotel ! Still a part of me thinks should we try something new again ?

We considered the Cosmopolitan at one stage - nice suites / modern etc.
But after looking round the casino / lobby / bars / main hotel area last time we were there, it felt a bit dark and gloomy whereas the Aria is bright and airy.
So Cosmo struck off the list.

We always go to the Mandarin Oriental bar when in Vegas as the view overlooking the strip is stunnig as are the cocktails.
The rooms in this hotel look really nice as does the pool and it gets great reviews on trip advisor.

Then we are into the likes of Whynn, Encore, Pallazo etc but just not sure and you don't seam able to get larger suite rooms at these properties for sensible money.

So appreciate any thoughts from anyone who could make any suggestions or comment on good hotels you have stayed at.

Been to Vegas 4 times although if you're staying at the Aria and Hilton kinda places then you're probably shopping at a higher budget than mine, lol.

I've stayed at TheHotel at Mandalay Bay, which is now called the Delano I believe.  Lovely hotel but it is right at the end of the strip so not ideal.  I stayed there because I was out for a UFC event in the Mandalay Bay which meant it was handy for the night after the fight.  Plus I got a good deal by booking way in advance.

Also stayed at the MGM before and after refurb.  Before it wasn't great.  Not bad but nothing special either.  Second time there was April last year and we asked nicely and got an upgrade to a strip view room.  Very nice spot with a great view.  Again a bit far down the strip though.

Luxor was a budget trip.  Again booked with a fight in mind as UFC 189 was in the MGM just over the road.  Pretty basic hotel and I wouldn't go again.

The Bellagio was the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Vegas.  One of the nicest I've stayed at full stop actually.  Great room, great service, stunning view from the lake view room and a good location for the strip overall.

Can't advise too much on the casinos as my friend and I were pretty lazy.  Way back in 09 we only played poker tournaments at the Sahara which is gone now.  And in 15 we played in the MGM casino only.

Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons or Aria would be my choices.

Were fortunate at the Mandarin to have booked a Studio Suite and got a free bump to a Strip View Studio

Cheers Guys.

Yeah Aria, Bellagio & Mandarin are all great locations being central.

They have fantastic pools & views etc.

I'd really like an Aria Sky suite but it just pushes the price up a bit too far.

We are going to Stay in the Bellagio next week. This will be our 4th visit to Vegas. First time we stayed in the Excalibur which was fine. The next 2 visits we stayed in the Jockey Club Suites, next door to the Bellagio. These I think are timeshares that we rented room only, again they were fine and a good price. Looking forward to 5* accommodation next week!

If you don't want to be on the strip the Hard Rock is brilliant, but I am biased as I get a poolside suite for pennies due to my membership level (although I lost a Tag watch and 5K there, always use the safe when having an unknown female back ). But the partying is good and the rehab pool parties are very good if you get a cabana, not so much if you're one of the prols.

But for the strip Aria is one of the best and if we stay on the strip it's normally there, but Caesars Palace is also good (again I get compt there) if really big, but got the adult pool and if your companion is female and is into topless bathing, that is a good pool.

Gone for Aria again .... weighed up all the others & still nothing compares so have to go back.

Got a great deal on a suite over looking the strip and Virgin flights pretty good price too so all booked for May 18.

I know Vegas may not be on everyone’s visit list after 1-10 but we love the place & can’t wait to go back.

I've not tried the Aria but agree that the Elara is fantastic for the price.

Take a look at the Cosmopolitan next time you are looking for options.  You can get a room with a balcony view of the Bellagio fountains.

Cheers .... we VERY nearly went for Cosmo on this occasion as yes the rooms look great and a terrace overlooking the fountains sounds fab ! We did walk around Cosmo the last time we were in Vegas and the inside just wasn't quite as appealing as Aria which has more light and feels more airy.

I'm pretty sure we will give Cosmo a try at some stage, but we couldn't resist going back to Aria again as it really was that good.

Once again this time, Elara was in the mix as you get so much for the money.

ive been to Vegas 3 times and stayed at THEHotel , Mandalay Bay and Aria and tbh i really like Mandalay bay/THEHotel as they are out the way have a great casino and pool area and i dont mind and enjoy the walk up the strip through the various hotels. Oh and the buffet breakfast is./was amazing. I'm also looking to go next year as well and trying to work out which hotel to go for, might check out the Mandarin as suggested.

Edit just realized Mandarin doesn't have a casino so thats out for me
