Same here. The last 2 or 3 days when you can't really relax and enjoy yourself because you are already thinking about the return journey and going back to work.

we like to look for bargain holidays (to an extent) and have drawn up various criteria's for holidays...
we tend t like to do a site seeing holiday around the june time and tend to do B&B and eat out a bit so we're not tied to the hotel / B&B - we've just came back from sorrento the other week and did 1/2 board, and this was an example of that, we some of the bars we went to of an evening supplied us with lots of free snacks and we ended up no eating them...

we then like to do an all inclusive in sept and oct and 2 main things from this are an outside restaurant / eating area, and a private beach - at our price point normally means the hotel is miles away from anywhere, but that's fine when you're just sipping cocktails and going for a paddle..

Witnessed them in Egypt once and in Thailand.

Don't mean to pry but could I just clarify on the above?   £1400 total (£700 each) spent after 10 days.   Or, £1400 left out of £2600  so £1200 spent between you.  Is that all in (Acc/Food/Spending money etc).  Either way, not bad.

Only ask as i've often though if taking myself (so more expensive as it's just one and accommodation costs more for 1 pro rata than 2!) to somewhere in Greece (never been) for a week or so.  £/Euro is trash though so a lot of Europe is uber expensive at that rate (though Spain/Portugal are still decent value).

The cost of the holiday was £900 SC in Skala Kefalonia, Greece with Jet2.
2 weeks in the Poseidon apartments.
We're flying home tomorrow and between me and the wife we have spent around €1200 in total. That's eating out 2-3 times a day, alcohol (I drink the wife doesn't) snacks and cigarettes (me as well as my  wife quit years ago) and a tour of the island inc a stop at the Mellasini underground lake.

Love the food, wine, weather, peace and quiet. Hate the toilet paper situation and coming home.

I always take my own toilet paper rather than some of the cheap crap you get. Also can’t beat your own bar of soap for the shower

Ever used a greek shower? Designed to make everything as wet as possible. Towels, toilet, walls, ceiling etc. Hand held usually and if you're lucky enough to have a shower curtain it will be too small or I'll fitting for the purpose

The best bits are trying local food, beer and enjoying the weather. Sleeping in your own bed on the first night back home.

Worst bits are running out of money or having to be careful due to the sh*tty exchange rate.

Yes the food can be a revelation.
Greek Salads in Kefalonia where the tomatoes are like watermelons and the Feta cheese is unlike any you get in Tesco/Sainsbury.
Wursts with sauerkraut in Germany. Good Indonesian food in Holland, I've never had a bad meal in Amsterdam. Even their FEBO's are great!
