Amsterdam birthday break

Going to amsterdam next month for mine and my missus birthday (we have the same birthday!) But as i've never been there before i haven't got a clue where to stay!!

The only hotel i've looked at is the  CitizenM hotel Amstel, i've stayed in the one in london and it was one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in but then i think maybe i'd rather stay somewhere different? So any suggestions are welcome, no more than £250 for 2 nights though!

£125 per night is pushing it, but possible. Depends really when and how much one is to compromise on either location or hotel quality.

Some of my favourites are L’Europa and the W hotel in the Center. Krasnapolsky can be nice as well. But likely over budget.

There some really nice hotels a bit further out, and close to the Metro. Metro connections are cheap, fast, clean and not overcrowded.

As an alternative why not consider AirBNB. You could get some fun real Amsterdam apartment for that. Somewhere in de Jordaan or de Pijp would be nice in my opinion.

Ah W hotel would be the dream wouldn't it? i just don't have that kind of money unfortunately

CitizenM Amstel is only £256 for 2 nights and it's a decent enough hotel

Don’t just go on the name and think expensive. Sometimes you can get some amazing deals. Last weekend with the Amsterdam Dance Event in was crazy but if you are outside school holidays and major events you can get some good deals.

W hotel is about £600 for the dates i want, i could go to Tenerife for a week for that haha
