Cologne hotel recommendations please

So off to cologne for a few days in December to see the markets any mid range hotel recommended hotels would be great

The Sofitel is great. I always stay there when in Kolne. However, the prices there can vary wildly. If you can book early enough you'll get in for around £ 100 a night.

We stayed in the Regency Hyatt across the river from the main centre. Very nice hotel. Again prices seem to vary a lot.
