I was turned off 'premium'/'additive' fuels years ago; 1985 when Shell first sold such a thing, as there were two leaded fuels at the time (2* and 4*) there was no option than to use it.
My 1963 Ford Consul Classic 1500cc spat a conrod out the side of the crankcase after only a few weeks of using, I thought it was just the age of the car, but then the fuel was withdrawn after many cases of Vauxhalls experiencing fatal engine problems after using it.
I'm sure the fuel vendors haven't risked that since...
