I'm already beat by my wife who found this:                                                                                  

That's her brother, now 60, in his state school uniform outside their council house.  The car was given to them by the owner of the local chip shop

Some rover or wolesley my dad had early 70’s.... it sticks in my mind sat in it by my grans house,.... bench seat front handbrake beside drivers seat next to the door I believe it was 4 speed but dad had fitted an overdrive to it

My Dad was a driving instructor so changed car every 2 years......I’ll have to work backwards to remember the first......

A reg red Polo

Now starts to get a bit hazy...

Hmmmm, some kind of Datsun i think.....i’d be about 4-5yrs old.

I'm vaguely aware of a Morris Minor predecessor, an A something.  But the one I remember clearly was  a C reg Mk1 Cortina Estate.

That puts it at 1965 when I was 5

The first car I had was a standard 8 but the big ends went so sold it, had numerous cars but the one I wish I still had was a Wolsey 4/44 in black. A model used by the Police back in the day. The most sporty was an MGB GT hard top, to thirsty for my liking and trying to fit 2 kids in the back on a hard bench seat wasn't easy.
