OK, i managed to get hold of an OBD reader, plugged it in, and its come up with one fault code..
17965,
Which is "Intermitant boost fault"..
MMM, hopefully not a dodgy turbo, theres no smoke coming from the exhaust,.
It isnt a constant either, i took it out round the block yesterday, it was fine, took her out today, and it was fine, then, whilst at traffic lights, the accelaration had gone again.
Again, no smoke, just took a little bit longer to get up to speed, as soon as she hits 3rd, orwhen the boost isnt needed, im back to normal power.
Im still really hoping its the wobbly pipe, as i cant see anything else wrong.
I use the diesel plus about 2x a month,.
There hasnt been any more oil from the little hole under the silver round thing, ive forgotten its name.
Ive given the engine bay a clean, to see if there is any more oil for reference, also for the mechanic, just in case she has to go in.
Ive found it makes a bit of a difference if you give the area a bit of a clean before taking it in,.
So, looks like ill try this hose, then if not that, looks like shell be going to garage!!
Cant belive it, shes been a proper solid motor, no troubles, just nice solid trusty bit of kit.
Ive got a feeling its the hose, like i said before, a loose hose, with even a small amount of air in it, will cause no boost.
But, im no mechanic, and am probably wrong, as i cant afford to sort out a turbo etc, so itll probably be a new turbo, new engine, new windows, new wheels, new everything, such is my luck.( can you hear the little violins??)
Thanks again for reading, and for the input.
Now to get the hose thing..... |
