Looking at getting a 2 year old Kia so that leaves 5 years remaining warranty. Looking at financing this for 5 years so hopefully hassle free driving for 5 years (apart from usual brakes discs, pads, tyres, servicing)

Anyone had a Kia and had to use the warranty, if so your experiences?

Warranty is one of those things that looks good on paper until you have to use it.

Cheers!

I had a Kia Ceranto 1.6 petrol for 8 years and only problem I had under warranty was a handbrake cable that kept stretching.... Had it replaced 2 times in 6 years.  Apart from that.... The usual stuff.  But from my experience of my first one, great cars, very underrated cars..... Great on fuel to that petrol engine.  Easy to service in the last 3 years I had it.  143000 miles when I sold it to a guy from Perth.... And as far as I know it's still going.

We have a second Kia Picanto 1.25 version 2 and it comes with everything you need.  Nice little car.... Nice looking to.  Just got years MOT on my older car, with the new regulations in place and it's being sold in the next week.  Will be looking at getting either the Kia Ceed or Hyundai i30.

I would highly recommend Kia.... Great brand and from the dealer we used in Edinburgh.... No issues.  In fact they used to always wash and hoover the car every time we had it serviced.... Brilliant.

Hope this helps.

PS.  Hyundai give 5 years unlimited mileage warranty.  Kia give 7 years limited.  Worth reading the small print.

I've had Kia Cee'd courtesy cars when my Sedona has been in for work, really impressed with them   Can't help on Warranty as the Sedona was already outside it when I bought it.

We have a 2010 Picanto, never had any issue with it. Always passes MOT and dealer was very helpful. Would highly recommend the brand.

I’ve had several Kia’s over the last few years, currently have a 2 year old Sorento and a new Soul EV.

I’ve never had any issues getting problems fixed under warranty (not that I’ve had too many) - even cosmetic issues like corrosion on roof bars or alloys have seen new replacements supplied and fitted without any problem. I also had a paint defect appear on one of my cars at 3 years old and again it was sorted without any fuss.

Thank you everyone.

Have any of you bought a car elsewhere and had work done at another/local Kia garage? Basically i'm looking at a Kia about 60-100 miles away, but any issues i'd like to take locally. Do they charge any diagnostics fee's etc?

Not an issue for me - my local dealer is happy to carry out all service and warranty work even though I don’t buy from them.

same - I had a lease car from down south and local dealer dealt with servicing etc.

Also personal experience of using the warranty after an issue on the lease car was 1st class - Kia customer services got us a hire car within 30 mins of breakdown and kept us full informed through the process of the fix etc - 1st class.

So much so we got another Sportage on lease straight after the first one!

NO problems at all...I source the genuine Kia parts (Not from Kia) and get a vat receipt.  Then the work can be carried out with any garage that is a vat registered using the genuine parts.
