I just googled allegro interior and that image came up , always been a ford guy so my knowledge of austin cars is limited, but for balance lets compare this to the Mustang convertible

I've seen a few mustangs around now and I still don't get it. They just look like a big corporate coupe. The Ford Mondeo version of the 4-series, C-class Coupe or Lexus RC.

Try going away for a weekend in an Elise with kids etc in tow.

I don't think the idea of a Mustang is to stand out really, what it offers is RWD, a nice big V8 engine in a (ok subjectively) good looking body. There aren't many cars out there that offer the same, certainly not at 30k.

I was referring to the post comparing a mustang interior to an austin allegro , googled allegro and that was the first clear interior picture I got , I thought the odd steering wheel was just a phase they went through for press attention , it wasn't on the whole production run

no problem, it has got a bit confusing but I think from the pictures I provided the 2017 mustang has little in common with a 70s BL product other than having the same control system
