Audi A5, 13 months old, 17.5k on the clock.

Can anyone advise on where to get an Audi Interim service completed?  The car is only 13 months old and needs an oil change as well as an inspection... Audio Camberleys price?  £392!  As you can imagine, I'm not gonna pay that but need an alternate recommendation if possible in the Farnborough, Basingstoke area.. basically anywhere between J4 and J7 of the M3.

Find a local VW Audi specialist, that's where I take mine.

I’ve found one that may work, I’m just wondering if I’m gonna get grief if there are any warranty issues down the road.

It transpires it needs a major service as well apparently, not an interim which is where they got the figure of nearly £400 from.

You won’t get any grief. The law allows you to get it serviced wherever you want. They can’t withhold warranty just because you didn’t pay them £105 an hour to some trainee.

I think VW/Audi prefer if genuine parts are used though, worth checking.

I would get some clarity what kind of service it actually is. Are you on a flexible servicing setting? 13 months seems to be overdue either way.

I think the confusion was when it needed/had an oil service way earlier than anticipated at 9k which was only about 7 months into ownership. It wouldnt surprise me if someone at the oil service made the change.

I’m half tempted to tell Audi that I refuse to use them for servicing on the premise that one dealer says it needs nothing more than an oil change and inspection but priced me a major service (Camberley, it was there getting a fault looked at in Friday), and the other (Basingstoke, dealer on my doorstep) says it needs a major. Looking further into it, a major is indeed what’s required as it’s coming up to the 19k interval.

Basingstoke were ‘decent’ enough to discount the major service by 10% though taking it down to £358ish

I don't think £358 is that bad for a major service at a Audi dealer, what's the specialist's price,

Surely a major service should only be due at 2 years or 20k, whichever comes first.

At that mileage after 13 months you should be on the flexible service schedule which is 19k miles/2 years like BMW.

Sounds like you were/are on the fixed service schedule so it asked for one at 9k miles, either way it shouldn't be due a major service.
