I was driving my car to work last Friday and after no particular incident, the gear lever would not spring from 1st/2nd back to central at all but would happily spring from 5th/R back to central. At the time it was also quite tricky to get the car into 2nd gear.
I booked it into the garage and left it parked up at home for a few days. At a guess, it sounded like the return spring had gone, a seemingly common-ish fault.
I then went to drive it yesterday as my wife needed her car back and all of a sudden it seems fine again.
Any idea what might cause that? I took it to the garage to see if they might look at it and see if they could see anything wrong but they don't want to take a look. |
