I have a pioneer avh4100nex head unit   Late this summer the screen stopped responding to any touch    Without the screen , how can I remove the faceplate from the head unit since I must press the screen to remove it?

I've tried running a thin blade along the bottom of the faceplate from left to right.   When it engages the detachment latch, the power is disconnected from the screen, but will not come away from the unit.

Depends on the car but a lot of double din units are bolted in.

Unfortunately  no.   At step 2, the screen is non - responsive.

Even pushing the release lever with a stiff feeler Guage kills power to the screen so I know it's moved over as it should be, but it still won't release the physical hold on the main unit.
