Parking charge notice

I have just received a letter parking charge notice from premier park stating that I was in the car park for 3 hours 26 minutes, I don't believe I was in there for that long if anything I would of been in there for 2 hours, but I don't think I was there for that long, it has the entry time and exit time and pictures of my car parked. I have no idea how to prove i wasn't in there for that long.

This is the first time I have ever had a parking fine.

Don't know how much the fine is but if not too much pay it and move on.

Guess it really boils down to how much time you want to devote to it

It's £100, if I pay within 14 days its £60, Not sure how i can prove how long i was there for, I don't want to pay as i know i wasn't there that long, so would fight the fine.

Unless you have proof you were elsewhere at the time they said you left (or that you arrived much later than alleged) I would think it's going to be hard to fight it.

The other half can have the fine for a present lol I had a hospital appointment that morning straight after i came out i went to costa so the arrival time is right but now way did i stay in costa for 3 hours 26 minutes its the exit time that is wrong.

Do you have any receipts from any establishments you visited - these usually have the time printed on them. Or check your bank statement.

You have not been "fined". Private car parking operators have no lawful entitlement to issue fines. What you have is a speculative invoice.

To issue these by using CCTV cameras, they have to follow a very specific set of rules (the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 to be precise) and many of these parasites do not follow the rules. This allows you to fight and get an easy win. Head over to the PepiPoo forum (Private Parking section) and do some reading.

If you have an Android phone go to google maps and look at your timeline. It might show when you arrived and left the car park!
