Sort of motoring...

Moved into a new build. Nice garage. Looking to paint the floor so I can seal it and stop it being a dust bowl.

Looks like standard concrete. A little rough, not smooth so not expecting a mirror shine.

Anyone had any experience painting one?

I did look at just normal Ronseal paint but just about all the reviews I've seen say it can flake or just have the tires pick up the paint. Looking at epoxy, such as the Rustoleum sets which look more the business.

Wondering if anyone has any opinions? Cheers.

Looks good but am looking to use it still to park my car. Very interesting though.

I have considered the rubber style mat interlocking tiles but just unsure on them.

I bought Screwfix own brand garage floor paint and then bought some cheap carpet tiles to put over the top.

Really you need to seal the floor properly, but my above method has worked fine.

Tip a 40/60 mix of PVA and water over the floor to seal it, then use some good floor paint - the Screwfix or B&Q stuff is fine.

For mega life, use a 2 part epoxy paint, but this is only really required in very heavy traffic areas. For a domestic garage unless you are planning on doing lots of vehicle servicing it's not really required and its horrible stuff to get down well.
