MAP Sensor to Intake Manifold Pipe Replacement? Ford Focus TDCI

Hi all,

i need to replace the the short pipe/ tube that runs from the map sensor to the intake manifold on my 08 focus 1.8 tdci.

is there replacement pipe that can be used?

replacement parts for the senor only seem to bring up the sensor itself ...so where would one get the pipe if its cracked in my case.

sensor part number is 4m51-9f479-aa

Fit a piece of windscreen washer tubing.

that would probably work, what about for the flexi elbows? what should i use for those?

You shouldn't need them.

You can get proper vacuum hose of different inner and outer sizes, also right angle and straight joints if needed, ask in a car parts shop or search the bay,  will be much better and permanent compared to washer tubing.

There are different qualities of washer tube.
Doesn't take much effort to find replacement tubing for a map sensor.

thanks if all else fails this is my backup. shame i would have to spend £50 for something that should be pennies as the map sensor doesnt need replaced.

new vacuum hose arriving today so hopefully its the right size and goes over the tapping - and stays put.

on the original, the connector has split (the bit that goes over the tapping) sorted with a cable tie for now and the connector also sheared off the main pipe which is sorted with epoxy for now.
