Sorry, haven't done much more after restoring the roof successfully. My wife lined up big jobs in the garden, and a full refurbishment of my daughters room. After that we'll get back to it.

Not that much more progress, but the time has come today to hand over the keys and teach my daughter to drive.

They are a bit of a bugger to get into second gear indeed I've got a feeling she'll be better at it than me. Tomorrow is GTI-Day

I lived for 3 years with that “problem”. Turned out a £20 bush kit fixed it the week before I sold it.

I've got the 'refurb' kit ready in the garage which fixes that, and also parts for restoring the feel to get to reverse by pushing down and left instead of just left, just need to find the time Also got a short shifter ready to make it a bit more pleasant.

Well the car survived the first lesson

She was pretty good realising she went too far with that dodgy reverse gear instead of first and managed to correct. I’m very proud of the new keeper

Better get my act together and we finish it off together
