Why have you felt the need to respond in a negative and condescending manner?
The damage was not yours so you should not be concerned, but Iron Giant liked my post and the damage was his.
Like I said I do feel genuine sympathy, but attempted to lighten the mood a little.

I did not know this so could only take the post on face value.
It just goes to show how easy it is to misinterpret the intended meaning based purely on the written word. Internet forum sites are full of people sniping at others for little reason.
In this case I do apologise to Gossops.

I don't know what the kerbs are made of in Oxford, but it had smeared jagged sharp edges of alloy almost into the tyre. I've filed those off*, so I think we are on cosmetic wheel damage only.  Apart from needing a new tyre.

* I'm sure the tyre didn't appreciate that, but I'm changing that.

I always get paranoid about kerbing my wheels that I was able to paraphrase woody allen - "it's ok, I'll just walk to the kerb from here.."
