I have an Nissan Almera, 2007. That is unreliable in damp/wet weather as car refuses to start. I think the fault lies with the NATS system, alarm immobizer. Where is it located in engine bay? Help, any ideas?

From memory, the NATS system is inside the car under the dash somewhere, possibly around the steering column.
Does the engine spin over but not catch or do you just get a click?
Usually if the NATS is playing up you get a key icon lit up on the dash....there is nothing you can do with the NATS, it's a dealer only fix.
If you have a second key see how it goes using that.
I don't remember exactly, but there is a reset you can do by turning the key on and off 5 times or to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 30 minutes then reconnect...if you try this, be sure you have the radio code.
Some Nissans can be reset by using a key that is known to work...turn on the car and crank it over but not start 3 times then allow the car to start on the 4th turn of the key.
It's a long time since I fixed one of these!

Thanks, for that. I've since watched 'youtube' & it's been an enormous help. The red key/on car symbol was flashing on the dash, when car wouldn't start. It's the transponder on the ignition-key switch on the steering. I'll take the bottom cowlin off, to expose it, psh-in clip & pull block-connector apart, replace & it resets it, & more than likely the NATS will reset enabling engine to start!!!
So, far the fault hasn't returned. I'm not sure whether it's a damp problem?
