Here is the thing I rarely write reviews, but I almost loved this show and feel I need to get it out. If you scrolled through the reviews like I did you will notice almost all the 7 /10 are all from season 1 and I agree. Season 1 is a great season with Wolf (Derek Wilson) stealing the comedic gold. The trio of actors work well together, and the chemistry is hilarious. I laughed almost the entirety of every episode. Season 1 is a hilarious over the top sci-fi raunch fest and I watched the entire season in one evening. The episodes with wolf in the 80's is absolutely comedic gold.
So, I was obviously excited when noticing there was a second season. However, quickly I realized it falls apart, they split up the trio and tell several different storylines that are rather bland and at times boring. They do tie them up in the end, but it feels forced. The characters regress into odd roles and quickly become boring. The first eight episodes could have been condensed into one or two. The plot doesn't really fit and the it felt more of a chore to watch. I laughed maybe a handful of times. The last few episodes it does pull together again when the trio is reunited. There are lines in some of the boring episodes that made me chuckle, but it didn't make me laugh out loud like the first season. The second season does take some of the jokes to a political place, which in the first season made me laugh even though I am conservative, and they were obviously making fun of conservative views. When comedy can make you laugh at yourself it is brilliant. The second season the jokes fell flat and felt forced.
I will probably re-watch season 1 multiple times in my life and show it to other people. Season 2 however is very forgettable. I hope they do something good with season 3.
