Famous in Love is a classic ABC Family/Freeform show: overdramatic and overacted, but entertaining up to a point (until the drama gets tedious). The first few episodes were so cringe-worthy, but the second half of the first season starts to get kind of good. The show tries to hit some deeper themes and issues, and almost gets interesting when it explores how Paige's sudden fame strains her friendships with college besties Cassie and Jake, but never quite gets to the right depth and remains frustratingly shallow. A little disappointed that it got cancelled because at least the plot was entertaining and hadn't quite reached the convolutedness of other Freeform shows that go on for too long, but I won't miss it too much.
