score 9/10
Revolution Huey and gangsta Riley, young black brothers, cause tons of chaos when they move to "the Boondocks" or suburbia with their Grandad. Aaron McGruder's comic translates well to this show in terms of content and style.
The show's anime-like style is pleasing to the eye. It is refreshing to see black characters for once in something anime-ish. McGruder is unafraid to take on any topic, taboo or not, in this show. From tabloids, hoes, government, and culture, McGruder addresses each subject in a caustic, ironic tone with his criticisms.
Although it turns people off with its excessive use of vulgar language and the n-word, it only tries to prove a point about society in a comic, off-beat way. In general, it's just a well done criticism of today's society through the point of view of Huey, Riley, and Grandad, respectively.
It's worth every penny and full of tons of laughs.
