I usually love these types of wildlife documetaries pioneered by the irreplaceable master Sir David Attenburgh so I was really looking forward to watching this much hyped series. However the BBC have really disappointed me with this one.The photography is stunning and I can even forgive the odd oversaturation of colours and the mixture of low light shots with high definition. What I can't forgive and what really spoils it is the inane, stupid, irritating script, which is narrated by John Boynton in his very monotounous, annoying, over dramatic tones. The programme is about a year in the lives of the widlife in the Serengeti, they are animals NOT humans. So why try to humanise them by giving them exotic names and building a "Love Island /Eastenders storyline around each situation. Animals DON'T share human feelings and are devoid of human emotions. Do yourself a favour and watch this with the sound off. I'll be avoiding all future episodes and watching repeats of Blue Planet instead.
