It's a love letter to the source material and fans of The anime. Maybe the best live action anime adaptation I've ever seen!
They added new characters and made a few adjustments to the original plot to make it flow as a movie and it works very well.
The humor is very 80s like, and a bit dumb sometimes; it's not for everybody , but if you watch it not waiting for a sofisticated flick bit for a funny and simple action-comedy, you'll LOVE IT!!!
