I'm watching this movie right now on channel 7. Let me start off by saying its a nice little story... but i'd rather read the book. What is with the bad bad bad fake digital imaging when the people are going towards the island? Those huge insects are pretty fake too... they couldn't have made it better than this? The characters always have their clothes considerably nice for their activities and their surroundings and they all never really get too dirty.
If anyone thought about watching this movie i would say sure it's a nice family movie and suitable for little kids but i wouldn't watch this again voluntarily... there's nothing else worth watching on TV. I have seen TV low budget movies before and some of them are excellent movies! i mean in running with big Hollywood block busters but this leaves much to be desired. This is not like any movie I've seen before and I'm glad for that.
Now i must say I've never read the book but it is now on my reading list purely because i think it would be better than this. If your looking for a version of this movie to watch warning!: boring alert.
