When I first saw the commercial for this, I thought how great a show about a transgender teen- something that hasn't been done! Nope, just a 40 year old woman playing a young teenage boy. A bit creepy IMO. My husband said- what does a grown woman know about being a 14 year old boy? That's a good question. Also, would they have made a show if a 40 year old man wanted to play a 14 year old girl? Most likely not. I think it's great the actress wants to make a show about a Persian family but find another way to do it.
