It simply works

Paint by numbers but it works...good acting, and a great supporting cast rounded it out. I normally don't like rom-coms, but after being forced to watch a number of chick flicks (thank you Covid-19), with better known actors\actresses I may add, I can honestly say this one is worth watching despite the Lifetime channel movie premise. The movie tugged on my heartstrings (yes I'm turning in my man card), but more importantly it made me laugh, something even full blown comedic movies have failed to do lately. Formulaic does not equate to bad, and this is a good movie.

The rest of the review is a counterpoint for some of the other reviews very mild spoilers are below, but if you saw the trailer you should be safe... some of the other reviewers call Josh a player, and Molly is simply pining for his attention. Molly was not trying to get his attention for most of the movie, and when she did want it, she did not beat around the bush, and she let him know she was not just his best friend's annoying kid sister, and "guy code" was no longer involved.

As far as Josh being a player, IMHO he was a ladies man, not a player. Yes their is a major difference (Google it), and one of them is honesty. As such he may have broken a few hearts, but at least on screen he never played with them. Josh breaks up with his girlfriend immediately upon discovering she thinks things are serious. Then add he never takes advantage of any of the other women who are noticeably ogling him. Risa would have been a one night stand, and his only sexual conquest is Giselle who makes it very perfectly clear she is not interested in a relationship. Then in one scene Josh makes it perfectly clear to Molly that something is missing...and surprise, surprise after Molly makes her move he discovers it's her,
