While anyone who is a Planet of the Apes fan (the original five) has seen documentaries on the films and their making, this is the first one that highlights the makeup artists without whom, an "A" class science fiction movie that changed the film world and science fiction films themselves, this would have been a forgotten "B" film and Twentieth Century Fox might have gone under (rather than been sold to Disney, something I could have done without) in 1967. This talks to the people who worked with the brilliant, mercurial John Chambers and those his and his teams work influenced. An excellent documentary.
